Summary: TuneChange is a data migration tool. We do not sell your data. We do not store your music history permanently. We only use your data to perform the transfer you requested.
1. Introduction
TuneChange ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we access, collect, use, and share your data when you use our Spotify to YouTube migration service. This application uses YouTube API Services and adheres to the Google Privacy Policy.
2. Data We Access and Collect
We strictly limit our data access to the minimum required to function:
- Spotify Data: We access your public profile (to display your name) and playlist metadata (track names, artists) to identify songs for migration.
- YouTube API Data: We access your YouTube channel information to verify your identity and manage your playlists. This includes permission to create new playlists and add video items on your behalf.
- Cookies: We use secure, HTTP-only cookies to maintain your session while you are using the tool.
3. Data Protection Mechanisms (Security)
We take the protection of your sensitive data seriously. We employ the following mechanisms to ensure your data is secure:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your browser, our servers, and third-party APIs (Spotify/Google) is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS 1.2+ standards.
- Ephemeral Processing (In-Memory): Your music playlist data and access tokens are processed in temporary memory (RAM). We do not store your playlist history, song choices, or YouTube API data in any persistent database. Once your session ends or you close the tab, this data is cleared.
- Secure Token Storage: Access tokens (OAuth credentials) are stored in encrypted, signed cookies on your device and are never exposed to client-side scripts (HttpOnly).
4. How We Use Your Data (Limited Use)
Our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We use your data exclusively to search for matching music videos on YouTube and add them to your playlist.
- We do not use your data for advertising purposes.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
- We do not use your data to train AI models.
5. Sharing and Disclosure of Data
TuneChange is designed to be a private, direct-to-user tool. We do not sell, rent, or trade your Google user data. Data is only shared in the following ways:
- Functional Transfer: Your data is sent directly to YouTube via their API to create your playlist. This is the core function of the app.
- No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share Google user data with any third-party developers, researchers, or advertisers.
- Legal Compliance: As required by law, we would only disclose data if legally compelled. However, because we do not store your data on our servers, we typically have no user data to provide even upon legal request.
6. Data Retention
We practice data minimization. User data is retained only for the duration of your active session to facilitate the migration. Operational logs (used for debugging) are anonymized and do not contain personally identifiable music history.
7. Third-Party Services
